L'an dernier, le V6 Biturbo de Mécachrome avait rapidement forcé les machines bleues à l'abandon. Il a été fiabilisé durant l'intersaison et l'équipe Alpine n'avait plus rien à redouter de ce côté là.
La voiture ayant aussi un peu progressé, la n°36 parvenait à gagner 8/10emes sur son meilleur chrono de 2024 et près de 3 secondes sur son meilleur tour en course. Malheureusement, un temps au tour n'est pas un rythme de course, et les Alpines se révèleront
incapables de se battre à la régulière pour rentrer dans le top 10, naviguant souvent autour de la quinzième position, à la lutte avec les Cadillac Wheelen et WTR et la Peugeot n°94.
Si les deux voitures rallient l'arrivée c'est au 9 et 10emes rangs (après la disqualificaion de la n°50), à 2 et 3 tours des vainqueurs.
In 2024, the french blue cars were quite early betrayed by their Mechachrome V6 twin turbo. The engine had its reliabilituy increased during the winter and the Alpine team knew they had nothing to fear this side. More over, with the improvements made on the car, the n°36 was able to win 8/10 of
a second on its qualifying lap compared to 2024. In the race, the A424 were quite 3 seconds faster than last year. Unfortunately, fast lap does not mean quick pace and the Alpines were quickly unable to fight for the top 10, lying around the 15th place, fighting with the Wheelen and WTR
Cadillacs, and with the n°94 Peugeot.
The two cars are classified 9 and 10th (after the disqualification of the n°50), 2 and 3 laps behind the winner.
