Après une 1ere participation en demi teinte, les BMW M Hybrid V8 reviennent avec un meilleur comportement routier et des capacités bien meilleures. Preuve en est : les 4 et 6emes places sur la grille de départ des deux Bavaroises.
Et la suite sera aussi favorable puisque les n°15 et 20 vont longtemps se battre entre les quatrième et dixièmes places avec un léger avantage pour la n°15 de Vanthoor, Marciello et Magnussen. Un Podium était il envisageable ? On ne le saura jamais car
le dimanche après midi va tourner au cauchemard pour le BMW M Team WRT. La foudre tombe d'abord sur la n°20 avec un long arrêt à 13h52 pour des soucis moteur. La voiture repartira mais perdra 10 places. Puis à 14h02, c'est la n°15 qui s'arrête avec une
surchauffe persistante de son système hybride lui faisant perdre plus d'1h30 et 23 places.
Malgré de bonnes prestations et de très bons chronos BMW est trahi par le destin. Quand ca veut pas...

in the pits, 23 positions were lost.
Despite a good pace and fast time laps, fate is betraying BMW...
