Accident peu banal par cette douce journée d'Avril des essais pré qualificatifs. Koji Sato au volant de la Honda NSX n°85 rentrait aux stands pour passer un train
de pneus tendres quand un mécanicien de l'équipe BBA traversait la voie des stands sans regarder. Bien que "rattrappé au vol" par Noel del Bello,
le mécanicien fut percuté par la Honda et lui brisa le pare brise. Heureusement l'homme avait la tête solide et s'en sortit sans mal, mais ce pare prise
fissuré dans le champ de vision du pilote immobilisa la Honda pour le reste de la journée. Petite cause, grands effets, dans l'impossibilité de défendre
ses chances, la NSX ne fut pas pré qualifiée.

Unusual accident in the pit laine during the pre qualifications in April. Koji Sato behind the wheel of the Honda NSX n°85 was coming to the pits for new soft tyres
when a machanic from BBA team crossed the pit lane without a look. Event if he was "catched up" by Noel del Bello, the accident can't be avoided and his head hits the windscreen making
cracks in it. Fortunately the man has a hard head and was safe but this "incident" had big consequences for the car. As the team had no spare windscreen, the car was unable to return to the track
and miss its pre qualification.
